1. Rental Agreement Overview

By renting a vehicle from [Your Company Name], the renter ("You") agrees to abide by the terms and conditions outlined in this agreement. This contract governs the use of the electric vehicle ("EV") provided to you during the rental period.

2. Eligibility Requirements

    •    Age Requirement: Renters must be at least 25 years old. 

    •    Driver’s License: A valid, government-issued driver’s license is required. 

    •    Payment Method: A major credit card in the renter's name is required for the security deposit and rental charges. 

    •    Insurance: Proof of valid auto insurance coverage is required. 

3. Vehicle Use and Restrictions

    •    Authorized Drivers: Only individuals listed on the rental agreement are permitted to operate the vehicle. 

    •    Prohibited Uses: The vehicle may not be used for: 

    ◦    Commercial purposes (e.g., ridesharing, delivery services) 

    ◦    Off-road driving 

    ◦    Towing or pushing objects 

    ◦    Any illegal activities 

    •    Geographical Limits: The vehicle must remain within [Specify Geographic Area, e.g., the state of Texas] unless prior written consent is obtained. 

4. Charging and Battery Policy

    •    Initial Charge: Vehicles are provided with a minimum battery charge of [e.g., 80%].

5. Fees and Charges

    •    Late Return Fee: $25 per day beyond the agreed return date. 

    •    Cleaning Fee: Up to $150 if the vehicle is returned excessively dirty or with odors (e.g., smoke, pets). 

    •    Smoking Fee: $250 if evidence of smoking is found in the vehicle. 

    •    Pet Policy: Pets are allowed only in carriers. Additional cleaning fees may apply for pet hair or odors. 

6. Insurance and Liability

    •    Collision Damage Waiver (CDW): Available for purchase at $19–$29 per day, depending on rental duration. 

    •    Personal Insurance: If you choose to use your personal insurance, proof of coverage is required at pickup. 

    •    Liability: You are responsible for all damages not covered by insurance, including but not limited to:

7. Roadside Assistance

    •    Battery Depletion: If the vehicle becomes inoperable due to battery depletion, towing services will be provided at your expense. 

    •    Mechanical Issues: Roadside assistance is available for mechanical failures not caused by renter negligence. 

8. Vehicle Return

    •    Inspection: Upon return, the vehicle will be inspected for damage, cleanliness, and battery charge level. 

    •    Missing Equipment: Charges will apply for any missing items, including keys, charging equipment, or documentation.
